Hon Rimamnde Shawulu Kwewum
Hon Rimamnde Shawulu Kwewum was born on 24 September,1961 to Evangelist Shawulu Kwewum and Mrs Hanatu Gasuwa Kwewum in Lupwe in
present day Ussa LGA of Taraba State in Nigeria.
He is a member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Donga/Ussa/Takum/Special Area Federal
Constituency of Taraba State.
"He was a Correspondent, British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, Jos, Nigeria from 1991 to 2000."
He attended the EKAS transferred School Lupwe and thereafter attended the Government College Keffi, in present day
Nasarawa State. He went to the School of Basic Studies in Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 1980 andwas admitted
into the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in International
Studies in 1984.
He is happily married and has four children.
Rima ShawuluPrior to becoming a Member of the House of Representative, he was Representing North East on the NDDC
Board (2011-2013).
He was the Programme Director, Neighbour to Neighbour July 2011 to November 2011, Operations Coordinator,
Neighbour to Neighbour (April Election Period) and Chief Consultant/Head Of Research, Goodluck/Sambo Campaign
Organisation ( 2010). In these roles he played a key and instrumental role in the emergence of Dr Goodluck Ebele
Jonathan as President in the 2011 Elections by providing insight and strategic guidance in the overall successful
execution of the campaign .
He started his career at the Standard Newspaper published by the plateau publishing company in Jos as a reporter
and worked as Borno State editor, Lead writer, News editor and Features writer.
Kwewum was at different times, editor of Free = Nation Magazine (Kaduna) Associate editor New Breed Magazine
(Lagos), editor at large Viva magazine (Lagos) and editor-in-Chief Northern Nigeria in Perspective (Jos).
Kwewum has written several articles and books including The story of Gambo Sawaba, Echo Communications Ltd Jos;
among his publications are, The politics of ethnic and religion crisis of Taraba State in Festus Okoye Ethnic and
Religious Rights, HRM 1998; The Socio-Economic and political context of ethnic and religious crisis, and violated
rights of woman and children under crisis; the impact of conflicts on woman and children in Festus Okoye, Impact
of conflicts on Women and Children, HRM Kaduna (2000).
